Hioctdane raced a little wide in the early stages but eventually slotted in midfield on the fence. At the 600m he began to move into the race stylishly. Forced wide on the corner he showed good acceleration to loop the leaders and hit the lead. He let down strongly in the straight and surged clear for a commanding victory. Pharomac settled in mid division and tracked Hioctdane into the race but was left flat-footed when the winner sprinted. He found the line OK but could not match winner’s finishing burst. Pins Of Pele settled perfectly just off the pace on the rails and had every chance. He disappointed only battling to the line.
