Midweek racing from Rosehill and Ballarat and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Rosehill Race 1 – Canara

Take nothing away from the winner Spywire who led them and proved far too good, but I think Canara has plenty of improvement to come and will end up being a handy filly. She was very wayward around the turn and in the straight but ran on strongly once she balanced up, moving into a clear second with a huge gap of over 4 lengths back to third. She'll be very hard to beat in a maiden next time out and when she learns a bit more race craft she should be quite good.

Ballarat Race 3 – Somebodytolove

Very good debut from this Grahame Begg trained filly who was taken back to last from the wide gate, circling the field and running on very strongly to grab second, beaten under a length by Juggle, a Godolphin debutant who led all of the way. She was clearly the run of the race and should relish getting over a bit more ground. By More Than Ready and out of a Redoute's Choice mare, expect she'll get over 1600-2000m no worries and next time out over 1400m, she should be going close.
