Sydney Specials: Rosehill – 27th of April 2024

Into the off-season at Rosehill now but there are still plenty of bets to be had.

We kick things off with the best of the day at Rosehill, where Kazou looks the one to beat in Race 7.

She beat the smart Commemorative first-up at Bm78 level last time in, running to a strong 103+ rating when giving that filly a stack of weight before being heavily backed to beat Revolutionary Miss at Cranbourne, starting $1.60.

She was no match that day but Revolutionary Miss went and won a few Group races thereafter and Kazou did pull up with a couple of issues.

If her recent trial is anything to go by she's well and truly over those issues, winning by a space, and I quite like her at 1100m fresh.

She gets in with 52.5kg at this level and off her two ratings last time in, she's already right up there without factoring her handicap. Tipping she rolls forward, finds a spot on the pace and proves too sharp.

Value-wise we'll pop over to Race 8 where St Lawrence might be able to catch a few of these by surprise while fresh.

He is unbeaten in three fresh attempts and ran in some good races last time in when venturing to Sydney. That said, his two wins in Melbourne to start last campaign rated strongly.

He was well beaten in the Five Diamonds prior to a spell but was good in the Prelude behind some smart horses who have gone on to perform very well at Group level.

Profiles nicely for this at 1500m fresh, if he can find a spot forward of midfield in what looks a sedate race, he can be in the right spot and run very well at double figure odds.
