The Giants have been going well, but after losing the derby to Sydney last week, it is important they respond in the right way against the Bombers.

They are 6.00 to win the 2024 grand final and a return to winning ways is crucial.

Hawthorn picked up just their second win of the season against the Bulldogs and now need to back it up against St Kilda in the opening game on Saturday.

The Bulldogs will attempt to bounce back from the surprise home defeat when they take on Richmond at the MCG.

In the other game of the day, the Gold Coast will be out to boost their top-eight hopes when they play North Melbourne in Darwin.

Hawks eye back-to-back wins

. What: Hawthorn v St Kilda
. Where: UTAS Stadium, Launceston
. When: 13:45 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Hawthorn 2.60, St Kilda 1.50

Hawthorn put in arguably their performance of the season so far when beating the Bulldogs by seven points last week.

Another win would be huge and they can be backed at 5.50 to do it by 1-12 points again.

St Kilda snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over North Melbourne, and also need the four points to keep their top-eight hopes alive.

Saints star Max King needs to get back among the goals and is 8.50 to boot the first of the game.

GWS need a response

. What: Essendon v Greater Western Sydney
. Where: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
. When: 16:35 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Essendon 2.40, Greater Western Sydney 1.58

Greater Western Sydney have lost two of the last three games, including the derby against the Swans last week.

They can ill-afford any more slip ups and nothing other than the win will do against the Bombers.

The Giants won by 126 points in the last meeting and are 21.00 to win by 73+ on this occasion as well.

It should be a tighter contest though as the Bombers are undefeated in the last four games to sit sixth on the ladder.

Bombers star Kyle Langford can be backed at 10.00 to boot the first goal of the game.

Suns set to shine Darwin

. What: Gold Coast v North Melbourne
. Where: TIO Stadium, Darwin
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Gold Coast 1.08, North Melbourne 8.00

The Gold Coast have won all four games on home soil this season, but the clash with the Kangaroos is in Darwin, and will provide a different test.

They have a good record at the venue however, winning the last four games, and will be out to pick up number five.

North Melbourne sit 0-8 for the season and have conceded over 100 points in each of the last five games.

The Suns can be backed at 4.75 to pile more misery on them by winning by 73+ points.

Pressure on Bulldogs

. What: Richmond v Western Bulldogs
. Where: MCG, Melbourne
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: Richmond 3.10, Western Bulldogs 1.38

Richmond have just one win all season and have lost the last four games on the bounce.

The Tigers have lost the last two games on home soil, including a 54-point defeat against Fremantle last weekend.

The Bulldogs are another side in poor form when losing four of the last five games, and they are in desperate need of a win.

They have won the last two meetings, including a five-point win the last time they met at the MCG.

The Bulldogs can be backed at 6.00 to win by 1-12 on this occasion as well.
