Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - YUWILL BE THE ONE (7) showed plenty of improvement last time out when only 0.4L off the winner at Ascot most recently. She was 25-1 there, but this looks a very suitable assignment and the booking of CJP is a good push for her chances. Can secure her maiden victory. TRUE APOSTLE (6) was a very impressive winner of a recent trial at Belmont and he looks primed to make a statement on debut. He looks suited to this trip first-up and Chris Parnham sticks from the trials. Parnham & Morton have had plenty of success when teaming up and True Apostle can build on that strike rate. RAINLINE (11) is another who looks to have trialled well heading into her debut. The booking of William Pike is a big tick for her chances. Can turn in a bold effort on debut. MEAN MACHINE (1) has the race experience on his side and may find this easier than recent efforts. BATTLE ON BATTLER (2) hit the line just behind Mean Machine and has to be included.
RACE 2 - DIALLING (2) returned in very good order on the Scarpside here 17 days ago, ending up just 0.4L off the winner. He picked up where he left off last campaign and improvement is expected now second-up. Drawn perfectly and can go one better this time around. SHILLING LANE (3) rattled home from last over 1000m at Ascot on debut which suggested he is an above average horse. The rise in trip is ideal now and he did jump favourite on debut. Sure to play a major role once again. CHER (4) disappointed at Ascot after a good start to the campaign at Belmont. Back up to 1200m suits and the visors go on first time. Can bounce back in a big way. HIT THE JACKPOT (1) was superb last campaign and looks to be in good order once again judging by his recent trial. Sure to be thereabouts. GOOD VIBES (6) scored a good win at Narrogin last start. This is tougher but she's not to be discounted.
RACE 3 - BIONDO (1) was narrowly defeated in a strong maiden over 1500m here 34 days ago and has been kept ticking over with a trial since. Carbery remains in the saddle and this looks a similar set up to his latest effort. He continues to improve, but he'd only have to hold his form to be shedding the maiden tag. MARBLE GOLD (5) stuck on well first-up over 1200m here despite ending up 2.9L off the winner. She's suited by the rise in trip and a stronger tempo will also help her chances. Can put her best foot forward. AIN'TSOBAD (7) has been fair in her two runs to date, but they were both down the 1000m straight at this track. The daughter of Maschino should appreciate the step out in trip and the booking of Brad Parnham is a positive sign. Can make her presence felt. KING KAWANA (2) wasn't far away last time out and has claims. IZICOLO (9) looks best of the rest.
RACE 4 - BEAU TALK (2) went under narrowly as favourite 17 days ago on the Scarpside track after leading them up in the run. He'll have to do less work from a much better alley today and he looks to have found a very suitable assignment. Just has to run up to his last start to be getting the job done. MYSTERY BULLET (5) was 20-1 first-up over 1200m last start but his best form did come over this trip last campaign. The booking of Chris Parnham is a positive sign and the added fitness is a big plus. Can get back to his best which would see him right in the finish. RUBICK LASS (9) tackled Listed company two back before a Class 1 most recently, and now she comes by to Maiden grade where William Pike hops in the irons. Form out of her last start has been good and with some luck she'll put her best foot forward. SNIP OF GLAMOUR (8) was a long way back on straightening last time out and stuck on well despite being 25-1. Blinkers on now. Chance. SANDFIRE ROSE (10) is better than she showed last start.
RACE 5 - KINGS SALUTE (5) jumped favourite on debut and just found a couple better when beaten 4.5L at Belmont. Tipped straight out and given a good break leading into this and his recent trial was solid. Wide draw is some concern but if he's come on in the break, he'll take plenty of beating. PLAYBALL (4) has had a few more goes than Kings Salute, but he did beat him that recent Belmont Trial. He was superb at the end of last campaign and was knocking on the door right throughout. Bigger and stronger now and is the main danger. RICHANCO (10) makes his debut today with Chris Parnham booked to ride. The gelding has won 2/3 trials and his most recent was a very impressive performance. Looks to have plenty of ability and is sure to be right in the thick of the finish. MAJESTIC PRINCESS (13) returned in good order and should be fitter for that effort. Expecting improvement. OLIVIA'SMEMUMMA (12) gets the blinkers on first time and is not to be discounted.
RACE 6 - JANNY (4) resumed in good touch at Narrogin when only collared late in the race, beaten 0.5L. She strips fitter now and Pike hops back in the saddle having had plenty of success when riding previously. Draws the inside and should be in this for a very long way. BELTA OF A SONG (3) may not have relished the extra journey last time out and getting back to this track and trip holds the key. She was only narrowly beaten here two back and this is a similar set up today. Can bounce back. NATIVE FLOWER (1) will be fitter for a recent Belmont Trial and showed good signs in her debut campaign. Been off the scene for a little while but suspect she's come on in the break. Form from her debut prep has her in this up to her ears. EXPOROSE (8) has found a couple better at Ascot lately but draws ideally for the straight course today. Big chance. SPECIAL HEART (2) gets Chris Parnham in the saddle today and can improve.
RACE 7 - MARINSKY BALLET (5) wasn't disgraced in open company at Ascot last time out and will find this much easier than her past couple of efforts. She's racing well without winning and has only been out to this trip once in an inconclusive run. Racing well lately and deserves to go on top. FIOREYES (2) sat outside the leader and put them away with ease when fresh at Ascot and the rise in trip is not issue. Should be fitter for that effort and he's drawn to take advantage once more. Should be in this for a very long way. SAVORSKI (1) disappointed last time out at Ascot but was very good the start prior over 2200m at Belmont. Back slightly in trip but that shouldn't be an issue and the 3kg claim comes in handy. Won't be far away. TALLANGATTA (4) is likely to be prominent from the outside and should appreciate the rise in trip being by Melbourne Cup winner Americain. Include. MONEY FOR OLD ROPE (6) won well last start and is worth including despite this being a tougher race.
RACE 8 - KISS A PRINCESS (3) ran on well last time out at Belmont when bumping into a smart horse who went on to contest Derby lead ups. Sticking at the mile looks ideal and she's improving with racing. Looks to have plenty of upside and she's found a nice race to get back into the winners stall. CANGGU (6) led them up at Ascot last start in a tougher race that this and was only collared late, beaten 0.7L. On the quick turnaround now and he has held his form on the back up previously. Racing well an should enjoy the drop back in grade. DARK LOOKS (5) was big odds at Ascot when finishing 4.5L away but this looks a much better race for her. The wide draw is a slight concern, but she hits this third-up and at the peak of her powers. Can bounce back in a big way. RUBICK DELIGHT (14) will appreciate getting out in trip and is not to be discounted. HE'S ARCHIE (2) is better than he showed last time out and can improve.
