Race 1 – Dodd

It was a strong return from Dodd over the 1100m, when beaten 0.7L by the firm public elect in Pure Bliss. Conceding 2kgs to the winner, the three-year-old son of Lonhro ran to a rating of 77 of the Racing and Sports scale. Improving on average 5.5 pounds in his second up efforts, Dodd looks every chance to break the maiden at his next start.

Race 2 Great Maximus

Scoring impressively on debut back in November, this three-year-old son of Magnus made it 2/2 when resuming in 3yo BM66 grade. Posting an R&S rating of 76 on debut before heading straight to the paddock, Great Maximus has taken obvious progression during the break, improving six pounds (82) in his 0.5L victory over the stable mate. Perhaps what was most promising was the versatility he showed. Leading pillar-to-post on debut, this lightly raced gelding was forced to do it from the back this time. After missing the start and settling last the fence, Great Maximus hunted the rail and got the split halfway down the lane, putting them away late with a bit up his sleeve. Further improvement is anticipated and with that, a few more wins can be notched up.
