RACE 1 - SUPER TWENTY THREE (2) has the hoof on the till having registered four minor placings from five runs this preparation. Was always up in the leading division and finished half a length from the winner in second last time out over 1000m at Townsville. Looks well placed so can go one better. OUT OF SIGHT (5) has been in the betting at both starts and showed improvement most recently when fourth over 1000m at Townsville, beaten 2.2 lengths. Capable of taking another step forward. FANCIFUL MR FOX (4) was midfield last time after kicking off the campaign with back-to-back seconds. Well drawn so can play a big role. IMPERIUM (9) made ground last start so the extra 200m should suit.
RACE 2 - BETTA AL (2) is a progressive gelding unbeaten in two runs this campaign. Very impressive when spanking his rivals by more than eight lengths over 1250m last time at Cairns. Freshened for this drop in trip so can continue winning run. SHERE KHAN (9) ran on and wasn't far away on debut last start over 950m at Cairns, finishing second and beaten half a length. Leading player with plenty of improvement in store. AVERAGE JANE (4) is back at the races for the first time since May 19. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work and has been readied with a trial win. NAZORIAN (1) turned things around last start and landed the prize by a neck over 1200m at Atherton. Could go on with it.
RACE 3 - TOTO (1) is coming along nicely this prep. Improved second up and scored over 1100m at Mackay two-and-a-half weeks ago, running on to get home by 1.8 lengths. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. BOHO BEAUTY (2) took on stronger company at Eagle Farm at her most recent appearance in August and lines up today for the first time for trainer Stephen Massingham. Expect her to play a major role at this level. TANGO AND CASH (6) has switched yards since ending last campaign with a win at Warrnambool. Can measure up. DON'T TELL LEEANNE (4) is back at the races for the first time since July. She filled a minor placing when returning from a spell last time in work so keep her safe.
RACE 4 - Hard to knock the form of SPEED LEGEND (5) who made it three wins and a placing from four starts this campaign when he scored by half a length over 1400m at Townsville last time out. Winning rider Lacey Morrison retains the mount. Can do it again. TYCOON BEAU (6) is in good form having run on to win at Ewan before again catching the eye when runner up at Townsville last start, beaten half a length. Gets another 100m today and that should suit. VIVENZO (1) is in good form having won his last two starts, the latest at this venue. Deserves respect. REALEZA (3) hasn't been too far away in two starts this time in. Could peak third up aided by the inside draw.
RACE 5 - BAKERSFIELD (1) showed good pace and went on to score by one length last time out over this trip at Townsville. Deserved that following a string of top-four finishes. Carries a big weight but could well salute again. BOOMED (2) ran a good race last start to finish a close second over 1000m at Townsville, his third placing from the past four runs. Expect another big run. PICTON (3) hasn't been too far away in recent outings and is drawn for a good run so can play a role. DUYFKEN (5) is racing well having placed in both outings since a win here so respect.
RACE 6 - PREMIUM STAR (3) scored a fast-finishing win last start over 1200m at this track, coming from the tail to get up by 0.8 lengths. Has been consistent and the confidence will be high after that last performance so another big run is anticipated. HELLO NEWMAN (5) registered a strong win at Atherton two runs ago and was good again last time out when prominent at the turn before finishing fourth over 1500m at this track, beaten 3 lengths. Another good showing is on the cards. RELIABLE WITNESS (7) is a lightly-raced gelding who was a winner at Cairns the last time he was fresh. Can go well resuming off a trial. COGENT (2) gets the inside draw for his return and is worth keeping safe.
RACE 7 - BIG FLASH (8) is improving with racing this time in, last start finding a couple better over 900m at this track when beaten only 1.2 lengths. Peaking now and on his best form he is good enough to take this out. SILENT EXPLORER (1) found winning form last time out, leading to score by 1.5L at this course and distance. Carries a big weight but could go on with it. YES DREAM (3) is a distance specialist with five wins from seven attempts. Improved last time out, finishing 1.7 lengths from the winner in third at this track. Likely to run well. BOLD TYPE (4) is close to a win after placing in his last two outings.
RACE 8 - MIRROR ILLUSION (11) has put together back-to-back placings, the latest when 1.5 lengths away in second after she got a long way back in the run over 1500m at this track. Close to a win so she is worth serious consideration. ALWAYS WRITTEN OFF (1) is putting together some good results. Continued a string of placings when second at Townsville two starts back then got the job done by 3 lengths as favourite last time out over 1280m at Bowen. Could go on with it. IMPARDOO (6) has been in good form with two placings in succession, most recently when beaten 1.5 lengths into third over 1500m at this track. Contender. FROM THIS MOMENT (10) showed good early dash and stalked the pace last start before drawing clear to score by a head over 1560m at Mackay. Chance again.
RACE 9 - MAZZARATTI (4) broke through for his maiden win over 1000m at Townsville last time. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Shaping up nicely and he is a key runner. MR KOBO (7) stalked the pace when resuming at this track and trip last start then worked to the line steadily to finish third. Fitter so expecting a bold showing. ZI WIN (3) did well last start but found one better over 950m at Cairns, beaten only 0.8 lengths. Has the ability to build on that encouraging effort last start. WRONGFULLY WRONG (11) finished second last time over 900m at this track when resuming from a spell, beaten a head. Will trim down second-up. Can run well again.
