Back to just the nine races in Adelaide on the weekend as we make a return to the Parks surface.

We look to strike a change of fortune with our plays this week, as I'm confident two Victorian travelling horses eager to break a long run of outs, can do just that.

In sequential races, my best of the day comes in race six (6) where the Henry Dwyer-trained Kyokushin looks set to run another bold race after being headed in his last two.

Although it being just under two years (698 days) between wins, his last and only being on debut back in late November 2021 when saluting handsomely at Kyneton, this lightly raced five-year-old has returned in solid order for his new trainer, after a lengthy 458-day layoff.

Dwyer has this son of Scissor Kick ticking along nicely and will be further benefited from getting 3.5kgs off his back after the narrow defeat, with a slight rise in grade and 1.5kg claimer Will Price piloting.

With similar positive tactics applied from his Kyneton run, Kyokushin should take plenty of beating.

Our other selection at Morphettville Parks who can make a long-awaited (but not as long compared to our best) return to the winner's circle is Grand Pierro from the Jason Warren camp (Race 7).

Having not tasted success for 374 days (two 130+ day spells included in the drought), the four-year-old Pierro gelding was doing his best work late last start when closing off nicely into a midfield finish at Caulfield over the 1700m in BM80 grade.

With her last win coming at Geelong in the Listed Geelong Classic over 2200m, Grand Pierro will relish stepping out the extra 250m to 1950m third up, a spot in the prep she's only got to once when producing her maiden win at Pakenham.

Expect her to be the one taking the strongest strides late.
