RSN Racing & Sport, Victoria’s racing radio network, extends digital reach with new smartphone apps.
This innovation in radio listening means punters across Victoria, and around the globe, can listen live to RSN – Racing and Sport, with just the push of a button on their smart devices.
RSN’s Executive Chairman, Michael Harms, said, “It’s pleasing to see the continued innovation in RSN’s range of products to the racing public. Together with the three racing codes, we’re now able to bring all the excitement, information and news straight to the punter, no matter where they areâ€.
Not only will the new apps carry RSN’s full racing and sport coverage in sparkling digital quality, they’ll extend the reach of RSN to punters living in remote parts of Victoria, beyond the reach of RSN’s traditional transmitter network. App users can also jump straight to RSN’s Twitter and facebook pages, to have their say on our world class racing industry.
Victoria’s Minister For Racing, the Hon Dr Denis Napthine, has welcomed the innovation, “Racing is a key part of Victoria’s economy and it is vitally important the exposure of our racing product is maximised through different mediums across the State, the rest of Australia and overseas.
“The launch of the RSN smartphone app is a fantastic addition to Victoria’s racing coverage.
“I particularly welcome the new opportunities this innovation offers to racing enthusiasts in regional areas who have trouble accessing RSN through conventional radios.”
RSN’s Group Program Director, Steve Cairns, says the apps have arrived at a great time, just before Victoria’s Spring Racing Carnival, “I can see the apps being an absolute must for Spring racegoers,†Cairns said.
“We’ve been introducing new racing programs to deliver the best in news, analysis and live coverage, and we’re keen to make the most of these new technologies to carry our shows to the racing publicâ€.
“Digital platforms are a big part of the new face of racing radio. And we are very much looking forward to presenting further racing program innovation over the Spring Carnivalâ€, Mr. Cairns added.
