The 2025 Everest race will take place at Randwick Racecourse this weekend.

The 1200m sprint is the richest in Australia and the richest turf race in the world.

Favourite to take the honours in this year's $20 million sprint is Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising trained by David Hayes.

But the win isn’t guaranteed.

Hayes has revealed his biggest worry for Ka Ying Rising in The Everest.

And guess what? It’s actually not the other runners - it’s whether the Hong Kong superstar can adapt to the new environment of a packed and likely raucous Randwick Racecourse.

Other key chances include Chris Waller pair Joliestar and Lady Shenandoah, Team Hawkes' Briasa, Ciaron Maher's Jimmysstar and War Machine, trained by Hayes' sons Ben, Will & JD.
