The Everest barrier draw date and time: Field, horses, favourite

When is The Everest barrier draw?

The $20 million Everest will be held on Saturday 18th October and Ka Ying Rising is the current favourite on many bookies to take out the Group 1.

The 1200m sprint is known as the “world’s richest race on turf” and is run at the Randwick Racecourse.

While all the talk is about Hong Kong superstar Ka Ying Rising flying down under, exclusively for this weight-for-age sprint, you can’t count out the other horses.

The Wayne, Michael and John Hawkes trained Briasa is blistering into The Everest in red-hot form, most recently winning the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) on October 4.

Also, Joliestar who holds the Chris Waller Racing slot is in for a real chance.

The final field for The Everest will be declared on the morning of Tuesday 14th, with the barrier draw to take place later that night at 7pm.
