David Taggart

SANDOWN

Race 1 | 2. Gold Medallist

Hard to go past the fav Gold Medalist who is looking to remain undefeated. Draws perfect, gets a 3 kilo claim but does race on a good track for the first time which shouldn’t be a problem.

Race 4 | 1. King Zephyr

Was ok first up and I believe he struggled around Moonee Valley. Gets back to the Hillside where he’s undefeated which will suit him better as he bolted in here second up last prep.

Race 7 | 1. Evaporate

Went back to the trials after his first up run where he had no luck at all and should have at least finished second. Does draw out but he will come across with the fav with Shinn stalking it everywhere it goes.

Race 8 | 2. Globe

Was swamped late after looking the winner last start at Flemington won by his stablemate Golden Path who has franked the form beaten a half last week in the SEN Underwood. Hits this third up where he’s undefeated along with here at Sandown all being 2/2.

ROSEHILL

Race 2 | 13. That A Boy (value)

Is huge value and will run well second up. Didn’t have the best of it first up and he will get every opportunity here from pole. Strips fitter, down in weight and has had a second up win. Great each-way play.

Race 5 | 3. Lord Of Biscay

Was somewhat beaten by the barrier first up after drawing the outside gate and getting further back in the field. Steps up to his pet trip, draws pole to get the run of the race and gets back onto good ground. Ticks many boxes.

Race 6 | 4. Marhoona

We see the return of the Slipper winner Marhoona and she is clearly ready to go. She draws perfect for Berry who has his first ride on her and she should be too good for these even if you have to go back 12 years for a filly to win this race.

Damian Watson

SANDOWN

Race 5 | 1. Navy Pilot

Ran well in the Poseidon Stakes at Flemington. 1400m will suit having gone out to a mile as a two year old.

Race 7 | 1. Evaporate

Was unlucky in the PB Lawrence, has plenty of talent.

ROSEHILL

Race 2 | 2. Warrior For Peace

Had a good run in the Highway, run over the extra 100m will help him.

Race 5 | 10. Formal Display

Won first-up from an 11 month break over this distance at Eagle Farm but was flat second up. Is back to preferred distance.
