We head to Gosford for Saturday racing with the Gold Cup & Coast headlining.

It'll be plenty heavy at Gosford on Saturday and fit horses near the speed should be heavily advantaged.

With that in mind, Goldman looks the clear horse to beat in the Gosford Gold Cup (2100m). We threw him up as the each-way play at $15 first up and the market certainly agreed, backing him into $5.50.

The one time Melbourne Cup favourite gave a good sight before Huetor, who looks right on track for a third Doomben Cup, ran him down.

Given he was first up over 2000m there he should have a bit of fitness improvement to come and from the inside barrier I think there will be even more intent to lead this time after he took a sit at Randwick.

The ground there was very heavy and he got through it nicely so there won't be any issues and I'm expecting him to make all around the tight Gosford circuit.

No 'value' play this week but the other feature on the card, The Coast, looks the perfect race for Tavi Time. He's a good horse who just hasn't been suited at his past two runs staying at 1400m.

The goal for him was the Provincial Championships Final and while he ran very well there from back in the field, he's a 2000m horse in time that just hasn't had the program to run over his optimal trip.

Two runs at 1600m have netted a cumulative winning margin of 9.3 lengths, one of those in the Mudgee Cup by 6.5 lengths on a soft 7 track.

Very heavy ground is perhaps unknown but I think it will benefit him as the strongest horse and he did show two starts back that he can settle midfield or better, especially now at this trip from a perfect gate.

He gets in beautifully with 53kg here against a few that have more than hit their mark and should be very hard to hold out.
