Both teams are setting the pace with seven wins from eight games, but something will have to give at AAMI Park.

The Storm can be backed at 6.00 to win the NRL grand final in 2024, while the Sharks are seen as outsiders at 10.00.

However another win for the Sharks against the might of the Storm, will make them genuine contenders for the premiership.

Lower down the ladder, Wests Tigers will take on Newcastle Knights, while the Dragons will entertain the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Top-of-the-ladder clash

. What: Melbourne Storm v Cronulla Sharks
. Where: AAMI Park, Melbourne
. When: 19:35 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Melbourne Storm 1.82, Cronulla Sharks 2.00

The Storm and Sharks have been the two stand-out sides in the NRL so far this season, but one of them will edge clear at the top of the ladder on Saturday night.

From what we have seen so far, we could be in for a close, tight encounter as two of the best defences in the competition will be on show.

It is the Storm that have the edge in recent meetings between the two sides, winning six of the past seven.

The Storm are also unbeaten in the last 14 matches at AAMI Park, while you have to go back to 2018 to see Cronulla's last win at the venue.

However the Sharks are a different animal this season and this could be a great opportunity to break the drought.

It will be tight, and the Sharks can be backed at 6.50 to win the game by 6-10 points.

Melbourne hooker Harry Grant has a good record of scoring tries against the Sharks, and is a big price at 4.50 to grab another at anytime.

Tigers on the slide

. What: Wests Tigers v Newcastle Knights
. Where: Scully Park, Tamworth
. When: 15:00 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Wests Tigers 2.20, Newcastle Knights 1.68

Wests Tigers started the season brightly, picking up big wins against the Eels and Sharks, but have since slipped to five defeats on the bounce.

They are boosted by the return of Api Koroisau from injury and the Tigers skipper will be key to them getting a result.

So will Charlie Staines, who has scored three tries in the last two games, and is priced at 2.25 to score at anytime.

The Knights have beaten the Tigers in each of the last four meetings and are 3.35 to win this one by 13+ points.

Mitchell back for bunnies

. What: St George/Illawarra Dragons v South Sydney Rabbitohs
. Where: Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Sydney
. When: 17:30 (AEST), Saturday 11th May 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: St George/Illawarra Dragons 1.52, South Sydney Rabbitohs 2.55

New coash, same problems for the Rabbitohs, who by 30 points against the Panthers last week to keep them at the foot of the ladder.

They are in need of a pick me up, but they will be without injured skipper Cameron Murray through injury.

However Latrell Mitchell, who has scored 10 tries in nine games against the Dragons, returns from suspension and is priced at 2.65 to score at anytime.

The Dragons head into the game on the back of two defeats, and have conceded 108 points over the last three games on home soil.
