Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Goulburn, Wellington, Benalla and Townsville.

GOULBURN: RACE 6 @ 3:50 PM

EASEMENT (4) is up to this at best and will be sharper for the new barn second-up. Handles the heavy and Collett goes aboard. Gets the nod. SYDNEY GAL (12) was back to her best beaten 1.5L here and finally has a low gate. Rates to go close. BOUNTY BY KNIGHT (3) races forward and was narrowly beaten at Canberra first-up. Heywood sticking is a positive and he's a decent chance to go one better. GRADI (6) is in a sharp local barn and has had two race starts both fresh. He was supported here last time but disappointed. He has the ability and no surprise to see him go well. The late betting will provide a decent guide with this stable. SWEET TREATS (13) will be fitter and is capable of improvement. Keep onside.
SELECTIONS: Easement at the each way quote.

WELLINGTON: RACE 3 @ 2:15 PM

LITERACY (7) two runs back have been solid and looks primed to break her maiden status at start seven. Ran on late when fourth over 900m at this track on April 12. Claim a bonus and should prove too good for these. I'M BRAZILIAN (5) surprised at big odds when resumed for a fighting third over 900m at Newcastle on April 24. Inside gate helps and back in grade after racing at the provincials at her last three outings. I'M INDEPENDENT (2) has disappointed in two runs back and drops in trip today after showing good early speed before wilting to finish seventh over 1100m at Narromine on April 28. Backs-up quickly and is worth another chance. UFANA (12) resumed with an eye-catching fourth over 900m here on April 12. Gets weight relief with the claim and strips fitter now. First starter STRIKE THE HEART (3) is worthy of consideration.
SELECTIONS: Literacy to win.

BENALLA: RACE 8 @ 4:00 PM

REFRESHING (11) put the writing on the wall last start at the third run of the campaign, chiming in late to miss by a neck over this distance at Pakenham. Very fit now, won't find this quite as tough, and draws the ideal gate so her credentials are hard to fault. STRANGELESS (6) picked up late when the race was all over to grab fourth when resuming over 1000m at Cranbourne. Far better placed over today's journey so expect to see her putting in the big strides late. IN YOUR HANDS (1) is back after a four-month spell. Opened last prep with a narrow win in a BM64 over this distance at Pakenham. Class runner who isn't badly in after the claim. Major contender. JUDGE KELLIE (9) went back to the tail from the wide gate then found the line well recently over this trip at Mildura. Capable of a top-three finish from a better draw this afternoon. AND SHE WAS (7) hasn't won for ages but is rarely far away. Good each-way option.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Refreshing.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 5 @ 3:57 PM

SPEED LEGEND (1) ran on late when resuming at Cairns over 950 metres and is unbeaten in 2 starts on this course. He is out to a much more suitable trip of 1400 metres second up and should be the one to beat. Stick with him. CASTILE (5) has been in good form this prep and was runner-up in a stronger lineup here a fortnight ago. His record over this trip is not so flash but he gets a chance to improve his stats in this. OUTBACK ACTION (6) is very hard to catch and would need to repeat his win at Bowen 2 starts back on the picnic circuit to be any chance here. Include in all multiples. TALONS (9) just missed out by a nose on making it 2 wins on the bounce here last start. He has 6 kilos less to carry this time and is sure to make his presence felt again.
SELECTIONS: Speed Legend to win.
