RACE 1 - CARNELIAN ROCK (3) improved again beaten 1L here and has a senior rider on replacing the 3kg apprentice. Peaks now and is ready to win. SIENA WOLF (11) came with a solid run to find a place here and has plenty of scope for further improvement. Presents briefly freshened. THEM'S THE BREAKS (13) peaks off two close-up efforts. She will give most a start but has a positive jockey switch to Newitt and she's a chance as well.

RACE 2 - SANDUAL (3) won the CL1 here and then came back beaten a whisker this grade/trip. Should get the perfect sit from an inside barrier and can bounce back. SUSHI EXPRESS (2) resumed in the same race and just missed. He hasn't missed a beat and won't have to improve much to threaten. STARNOTE (6) peaks and has been around the mark since the first-up 60 win at Hobart. Has been briefly freshened and will likely control the race. CAPITAL CHEVAL (1) resumes off a heavily bet CL1 win and brings a sharp trial. Maps for the run of the race and is likely to be further improved.

RACE 3 - Tricky. ESPUR (8) has been knocking on the door and has trialled nicely since her last race 33 days ago. Newitt is reunited and the on-pacer is suited. ASTRO TED (1) debuts and impressed in the recent Longford trial. Carr is booked and will give him every chance from an inside barrier. WICKHAM LIGHT (7) debuts and also trialled well on the same day. Profiles well and should give a sight. BANKROLLBENNY (3) will use the rail and was only beaten 1.2L here 30 days ago. Always puts in and deserves to break through.

RACE 4 - HEWIE (2) rates well and kicking off over a mile shouldn't be an issue. Won a recent trial over 1350m and he should position up well from the handy gate. EBB sticks from the trial and is striking at 21% with the Trinder yard. TOSEN FAME (11) wasn't far away at Hobart and then settled back here from a wide gate beaten just 1.2L over this distance. Keeps Carr and is a live chance. SURELY SPECIAL (5) turned the form around comfortably winning a Maiden here over 1400m. Dropped back from a solid outing over a middle distance and the mile is likely to be his sweet spot. May have turned the corner. MILTON (7) is fast and will likely have the early tow to clear the outside gate. He's improving and is a hope if things work out. PUNTER (3) also deserves consideration.

RACE 5 - SISTINE (5) ran her best race narrowly beaten here in a 64. Races forward and Newitt rides first time replacing the apprentice. Finds easier and she just has to hold that form to take beating. CHEROKEE DANCER (7) also positions forward and is busting to win. Comes back in grade off a 1L defeat and worth including. GREY WHISPER (8) is another honest galloper who's been threatening. Was narrowly beaten in a 64 last time and that stacks up. THUNBERG (1) is proving hard to catch but will run along from an inside gate and the 3kg claim brings her right into it.

RACE 6 - A small field but it's competitive. JAGUAR STONE (1) was within range in Group 3s and then got too far back here in an Open 7 days ago and that didn't suit. The rails gate shouldn't bother in the small field and she deserves another win. SEYDOUX (4) finds harder but has gone back-to-back and has 2kg weight relief. She's also back after 7-days and should go close. INTISAR (7) is also up in grade but rates well off the 60 win and can't be ruled out down in the weights. FAKE MAGIC (2) went well enough in the Jaguar race to consider.

RACE 7 - ASVA (3) missed a nose here first-up heavily bet and the money came again after and he delivered a CL1. He flies third up and has more to give. Should have these covered. NAVY STREET (4) threatened twice before returning to the winner's stall here in a CL2. Keeps putting in and can make the finish. RIGOLETTO (8) peaks and the near miss here two-back reads well. Gets in light with the 3kg claim and has to be considered. HELLOT (7) got too far back last the but won the two prior and drops back 200m. Gets in light with the 3kg claim and also deserves consideration.

RACE 8 - LI'L HAIL MARY (3) won the 60 here and then missed narrowly the same grade. Come back 200m but that shouldn't bother. Newitt rides from a handy gate and she can bounce back. WELDBOROUGH (2) needed the run first up and will be a lot sharper today. Brought strong form to that and the longer sprint suits. SHARE THE GOLD (9) turned the form around narrowly beaten last time out. The rails gate is likely against but he sits down in the weights and should be around the mark. SHIM (8) was only beaten 1.6L in the same race and on that effort can't be ruled out.
