Winning Trainer: Annabel Neasham

On the win: "I love this horse so much. He's an eight-year-old and to do that first-up on a bottomless track like this, I knew he would run well and I said that to Jamie. I said he ran really well on a Heavy 10 in the Chelmsford first-up about 18 months ago. He's just a beauty and I'm so happy for Teme Valley back in the UK because they were happy to give him one more prep. He's obviously getting a bit older but he ran really well in Perth and having a last prep up here and to start it off like that is fantastic."

First-up 1800m: "Big team behind me. I have to say a big thanks to David Noonan and his team down at Balnarring Beach because he's been in pre-training down there. He got through his trials being trained at the beach and the team down in Melbourne can take most of the credit for this. He had a week in Sydney and had a trial there, so the team did a good job with him and then he's come up here and he comes alive up here. He seems to love it up here."

On Jamie Mott riding Numerian to victory: "Qudos to Jamie Mott as well. He rode at Cranbourne night meeting last night and he's come up to ride for me in the first race and then in this today. I'm just glad the trip was worthwhile for him. "

Winning Jockey: Jamie Mott

Winning for Annabel Neasham: "Fantastic. I can't thank her enough and the team behind her. She's given me a great deal of support since she started training and it's nice to win a nice race for her and hopefully it's a good relationship going forward. "

On the win: "I was really looking forward to riding him. He's a very good horse and the track conditions really suited him. It was just whether at the 1800m, on such a testing track, would he be up to scratch with his fitness. But Annabel has done a fantastic job with him. "

On the race: "He bounced really well. We were kind of racing off the fence so I was three-wide with a bit of cover and Ryan Maloney on the stablemate was having a bit of difficulty with his horse, he was pulling quite hard. So I said to him you come out, you get going because he looked like he was in a bit of trouble, so once he did that I sort of got his back and I just rested the whole way. And he showed a great turn of foot on that ground."
