Winning Trainer: Matt Dunn

"His last prep was really encouraging and we hoped he'd improved, which he has. Physically he's turned into a lovely big strong horse now, and the Jacobsens (owner/breeders) are very patient and are happy to roll with whatever we want to do. He's a good example of the benefits of patience, because he's certainly developed and is in for a good prep.

Looking fit: "He came in off a couple of decent trials, and they're getting plenty of fitness from these trials because they're all being run on heavy tracks. He's a lovely horse and I trained his mother, she was a lovely mare and I think she still holds the track record at Ipswich."

Track conditions: "Raceday rain always has a big impact on tracks, so there's not much you can do about it. You need a tough horse to win today."

Winning Jockey: Ryan Maloney

Great return: "I thought he was really well placed. He was on the fresh side and we were able to control the race. The Godolphin horse took it up and we were able to have the last crack at them, and he proved too strong."

Tempo: "It was very muddling but we worked out to be the beneficiaries."
