Wild weather has caused chaos at the track.
Racegoers in Geelong have been evacuated from the Geelong Cup as wild winds and weather battered suburbs across Victoria.
An indefinite delay to racing was announced at 2:15pm with the event cancelled for the day by 3pm after just three races.
The emergency weather services, who are based on-course, warned the Geelong Racing Club that worse was to come.
The wind conditions were reported to be between 46-50km/h with gusts up to 76km/h. Those dangerous conditions continued through the afternoon.
The winner of the Geelong Cup is granted a golden ticket into the Melbourne Cup.
Event organisers have confirmed that the card will resume at 2:25pm on Thursday at Geelong (Race 4), and the Geelong Cup will be run at 4:10pm AEDT.

There is a second Victorian meeting on Thursday set to take place at Mornington which kicks off at 1pm AEDT.
