A near-fatal accident nearly occurred.

Tragedy nearly struck in the United States with an ambulance almost running over multiple horses and jockeys in the middle of a race.

In Race 8 at Evangeline Downs in Louisiana the runners were bolting down the track, but little did they know that an ambulance was driving straight towards them, on the inside of the rail.

With potential doom impending, all eight jockeys quickly reacted by moving their horses to safety, narrowly avoiding the ambulance.

Luckily, no horse or rider was injured in this near-fatal accident and the race was voided.
