Midweek racing from Warwick Farm Doomben and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.

Warwick Farm Race 1 – Mafia

Interesting race this with Mafia leading out and looking to be travelling okay around the turn before he put in an awfully awkward step and almost fell at the 200m mark, then battling away late into fourth. Whether he wins the race if he'd run smoothly is probably unlikely but I thought he'd trialled well leading into this preparation as a gelding and he might go under the radar next start. He took on some handy races last time in and ran well enough, if he could find another 1000m race next start perhaps at Canterbury, his racing pattern will see him hard to beat.

Doomben Race 2 – Bezique

Dominant win and a high rating performance at Doomben ahead of the Magic Millions carnival and it wouldn't surprise to see Bezique make her presence felt. She measured up in some much stronger races last time in, finishing 1.5 lengths off the likes of Golden Boom and Spacewalk. She's run within a length or so of her peak rating here with a dominant 3 length win, leading all the way and doing it easily. Hopefully the stable continue to ride her positively after trying to ride her back before a spell and if so, she could win a race over the carnival.
