Queensland authorities confirm Hendra virus outbreak

Another outbreak of the Hendra virus has been confirmed in Queensland.

Biosecurity Queensland has confirmed it is managing the virus which has claimed two horses in the past five days.

The test results have confirmed one horse died in Rockhampton while the other died in Ingham.

Symptoms of the virus include a rapid deterioration with signs of respiratory distress, a wobbly gait and uncontrolled muscle twitching.
