The average and median prices have continued to rise after the second day of the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. 120 yearlings sold on day two at an average of $238,583 with a median price of $180,000, comparable to last year's overall average and median of $238,260 and $180,000 respectively. The highlight of Day 2 was the sale of the Redoutes Choice half sister to Black Caviar (Lot 200) that reached $2.6m when knocked down to BC3 Thoroughbreds. "It was Incredible scenes and fantastic bidding," Inglis Director Mark Webster told Shane Anderson on Racing Ahead. "It really did exceed our expectations and $2.6m is a great result for everyone involved. "The clearance rate climbed to 79% yesterday and I'm expecting it to continue to rise throughout the sale." After two days, Coolmore Stud head the vendors list after two days having sold 21 lots for just over $5million, while Yarraman Park Stud, Edinglassie Stud and Kia-Ora Stud have all managed a 100% clearance rate so far, netting $7,892,500 for the 32 they have sold between the trio of Hunter Valley operations.
