Pierro Prevails Again

The Gai Waterhouse trained Pierro has made two G1 wins on end with a dominant victory in the Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday. The Lonhro colt, now five wins from five starts, took his prizemoney past $2.6 million when he comfortably defeated the previously unbeaten All Too Hard and Limes in the 1400m feature. Waterhouse was full of praise for her colt, who posted a time of 1.21.47 for the 1400m journey, eclipsing Luskin Star's race record set in 1977. "There was nothing too hard about that was there?” Waterhouse said. "He's an outstanding colt. I have said it from day one. What else has he got to do? "He wins every race he has gone in. He wins every major and they still question him. They must all be blind and deaf, the poor buggers.”
