Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - ENABLER (1) returned to the winners' stall at Mackay at the latest effort and will have derived a stack of confidence from that victory. Is a four-time winner over this sprint trip and should get all the favours in running from the inside marble. Rates the testing material. GROWL (3) is a consistent conveyance hitting the top-five at his past four outings and rarely puts in a poor one. Looms as the main danger. EUPHRATES DREAM (6) has gotten better with each run this time in and gets 1.5kg off with the claim. In the mix. I'M PINKER (8) best of the rest.
RACE 2 - QUARTERSHARE (5) resumes here but the form he showed when last in work was good enough to be competitive in a race like this. Has placed first-up before and should give a sight while fresh. TEKOPO (12) has been thereabouts in both starts to date and this is not an overly strong affair. Can improve enough to play a major role in the outcome. STEP TO SUCCESS (10) has hit the top-four in three of four career outings and gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claim. Top-three candidate. NOBLE MASTER (11) returned in good order with a close-up second over this track and trip and looks a must for the multiples. DEVIL DEVIL (13) next in line with Stanley on board.
RACE 3 - KNIFE'S EDGE (3) has been racing consistently filling a place at the past three outings and is a two-time winner over this mile journey. Finds a suitable contest and deserves to break through. PACKAGE (6) was a touch plain last time out but go on the two strong victories prior. Has won over this track and trip and draws the inside alley. Can bounce right back here. MOENAVE (1) grows a leg for Murphy who has two wins and five placings from just eight steers. Has to be included. MOTAMAYIZ (7) has won around this circuit and may earn some minor money. BORS (4) rounds out the selections.
RACE 4 - YUBETIDO (1) has a handy record here on his home circuit with two wins and five placings from 14 outings and will be at his peak now third-up from the spell. Can improve enough to take this out. XARELLO (2) got the maiden win out of the way last start and will have taken some confidence from that victory. Winning hoop Chambers sticks and can make it back-to-back. ZELSON (6) has placed over this track and trip and gets some weight relief with the claim. Cannot be discounted. The well-related DELIUS (3) (half to 2xG1 winner Colette) next in line.
RACE 5 - BUSH DIAMOND (2) has been right there at the past few outings and gets winning rider Stanley back in the stirrups. Drawn to get a soft run in transit from the inside alley and should be right there when the whips are cracking. HOLLYWOOD PARK (4) has placed three from three around this circuit and has been racing in fine fashion of late. Expect a strong performance. Former NSW galloper BIJARA (10) was okay in her first local effort but will have taken a lot from that hit-out. In the mix on best form. SCOTTISH FARMER (7) has two wins and four placings from his past six starts and has hit a purple patch of form. Can continue the consistent run. DIRECT AFFECT (3) goes well for Bell who has a win and three placings from just four rides. Cannot be ignored.
RACE 6 - LUTINE BELLE (4) was too bad to be true before the spell but the two wins prior were solid including one around this circuit. Gets Bayliss on board to navigate from the sticky draw and can make her presence felt if forward enough. SASSY DIVA (7) placed over this track and trip when first-up from a lengthy spell and will have derived a lot of benefit from that day at the races. Draws the inside marble and looks to have plenty of upside. MIDSUMMER NIGHT (8) broke the maiden status over this course and distance when resuming and will take a lot of confidence from that victory. Gets 2kg off with the claim and no reason why she can't go back-to-back. TERRONA (10) has placed two from two over this sprint trip and is another to get some weight relief. In the mix. CINDERELLA MAN (1) best of the rest.
RACE 7 - The penny has dropped for FINAL MISSION (8) who has gone bang bang to start this preparation and winning hoop Olzard stays on top. Again gets the benefit of their 1.5kg claim and should be right there when the judge calls a halt. SO OUTRAGEOUS (5) shed the maiden tag at the latest effort and is another to get some weight off. Looks to be improving with racing. SON OF BEEBEE (1) doesn't know how to run a bad race and is a must for the exotics players. ENERGIZED (9) strips fitter second-up from the break and may trouble the judge with any luck in running.
