Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - PAPPIANA (10) only missed by a lip here last start when sent out favourite. Steps out in trip four weeks between runs and only needs to hold her form to be very hard to beat. MANDINO (3) finds the maiden win elusive, but it certainly hasn't been without trying, placing in 10/13. Has her share of ability, just needs to find the will to win. GREY FOLLY (9) was better last start at Balaklava when chasing gamely into the placings. Is another that has found it tough to muster the winning blow but is worth including with Holder going first time. MR GEORGE (4) has had less goes than others and was good last start when just missing at Bordertown. Another one to consider.
RACE 2 - SPLASH LANDING (13) has been solid in her three runs back and the form around her has stuck up superbly with a stack of subsequent winner. Peaking now and is drawn favourably. Leading player. SEVEN SHOTS (7) was better here at the latest when beaten narrowly. Comes in fresh 28-days between runs and will appreciate stepping out the extra 150m. Main danger. PAINTED PONY (11) has caught the eye in both runs back when flashing home from rearward positions. Gets the chance to settle closer from the better draw and is among the main hopes. SILVER LIFESTYLE (12) didn't offer boo when returning in town 11 days ago. Will improve with that run out of the way and is worth keeping safe. MENACE TO SOBRIETY (5) showed ability at the trials and is worth keeping safe, especially if the market agrees.
RACE 3 - KIRKLISTON BLU (3) showed good tactical speed in town in is last two and has stuck on stoutly. Easier this time and will appreciate dropping back to the mile. ALLEGEDLY (9) hasn't won for a long time but has been knocking on the door, bar the one blip two back. Steps out to a preferred trip and gets in well again at the weights with the 3kg claimer engaged. Have to consider. BIG SWAN (2) never looked like when resuming in town at the latest off a long break when always well back. Easier time and is better suited over the longer journey but could just need another run. FAST BUBBLES (4) came through a hot maiden at Balaklava to get the job done at Murray Bridge. Worth following up with gun hoop in Toeroek sticking.
RACE 4 - ALOHA BLUE (6) has bounced back nicely in her last two starts. Stays at preferred trip now and is drawn favourably. A lot to like. NOT A SINGLE BID (8) doesn't win out of turn but did catch the eye last start at Bordertown when closing nicely late. Gets in low at the weights again with the claimer sticking and is the one to watch for late in the piece. DEEVINE (2) was too bad to be true last start at Bordertown when a disappointing favourite. Fitter now and is aided at the weights with the 2kg claimer going on. Watching for sharp improvement. EASTSIDE DIAMOND (9) next best.
RACE 5 - ABIT RATTLEY (5) is yet to strike through this campaign but is knocking on the door. Put the writing on the wall last start when lipped. Steps out to a winning trip on the quick back-up and is expected to take some stitching. LYNDA'S LEGACY (7) knuckled down gamely in the lane to score a barnstorming win at Bordertown. Fitter again and will be looking to replicate from another outside alley. HEADPHONES (2) went forward last start in town but found little in the lane. Strikes an easier assignment but will likely be more conservative from the draw this time around. LIMITED RISK (4) made light work of his rivals at the latest. Tougher this time but deserves respect.
RACE 6 - FLYING ASSASSIN (1) is as true as the day in long. Was good again in town at the latest when filling the frame. Much easier this time and is aided under the big weight with the 3kg claimer engaged. Expect him to be featuring. SCAMSTER (6) doesn't win out of turn but is another that will find this easier as he drops in grade. Steps back to a winning trip off a 42-day freshen and can play a major role. WE'VE GOTTA DEEL (9) was much better last start when beaten narrowly at Halidon. Has more to offer. SALUTE THE STARS (5) is another who has spent a long time out of the winner's circle but is going well enough of late to give this a big shake. RED SEQUOIA (2) is a track and trip specialist that also warrants consideration.
RACE 7 - AMERICAN TROUBLE (11) returns and while he's yet to score fresh he looks to have returned in good order on the back of a solid Murray Bridge trial. Will be looking for further the deeper into the prep he goes but a low draw and light weight can see him race prominently. Bold showing anticipated. GOT AN INSPIRATION (2) disappointed last start in town but was much better on the Parks surface when just missing the frame. Comes in on the fresh side 25 days between runs and bounce back sharply. CANIDAE (4) is a grand old horse for the Hickmott & Riggs partnership with as he lines up for start 105. Rarely turns in a poor one and does his best work on this surface. Have to include. SADLER'S SONG (9) is knocking on the door after another fast finish at the latest. Expecting her to drift back again from the draw and be charging hardest late.
