RACE 1 - HEZ GOT THE SAFE (2) was beaten by a head on debut and then after a spell was again beaten by the same margin, both times at Belmont. He gets a nice swing in the draw this time and with an extra furlong being ideal, he can go one better. SECRET INTENT (6) was second on debut before running a bold race for fourth out of her grade at Belmont 16 days ago, finishing fourth and under 2 lengths from the winner. She draws the pole position and won't be in this grade for much longer. POND MASTER (1) was sent for a spell after finishing second by a nose at Belmont at the beginning of June and his recent spell would have done him the world of good. He was runner-up in a recent trial and William Pike has stuck with him from that hitout. Hard to beat fresh up. KIMBERLEY ROSE (8) was heavily backed into favourite on debut and finished seventh but not beaten all that far. He has won a recent trial and can set the record straight fresh up.

RACE 2 - MAI ALOHA (10) did a lot wrong on debut and still managed to finish second after being run down late. She was put aside to mature and has had a very quiet trial in the lead-up to her return. William Pike is in the saddle on race day for the first time and from a handy draw, she is the one to beat. FIRST BEACH (1) is an ex-Victorian who was third on debut at Cranbourne and has won a Lark trial recently for his new connections. He will be a lot stronger in this campaign and can make a winning West Australian debut. BUSTER'S GIRL (9) looked much better when finishing fourth out of her class at Belmont 12 days ago. She drops back into maiden company and is ready to put her best hoof forward. MAZZETTI (4) had a touch of second-up syndrome last start and her fresh-up effort for third is the guide to use. Both of her career placings have come on this track and she has each-way claims again.

RACE 3 - DREAM ILLUSION (3) made up some late ground when finishing fifth here nearly 6 weeks ago and all 3 of his starts this prep have suggested that he is crying out for more ground. He jumps up sharply in trip and the blinkers come off but William Pike is back in the irons and he should go close to taking this out. WHISTLING WARRIOR (8) hit the line hard here 11 days ago and just missed out on winning by a nose. She has a tougher draw to contend with this time but with the right run, she can go one better. RUNAWAY WINSTON (2) worked hard to find a nice spot from a wide gate when resuming from a spell here last start and peaked on his run late, finishing fourth. He won a trial before that and will be spot on this time. A superior gate will make him hard to beat. ALL VITAL (1) made up a stack of late ground when finishing fourth at Northam last start and the step up to 1675m is ideal. He has a better draw and won't be in this grade for much longer.

RACE 4 - UNIVERSAL HOTNESS (2) opened this campaign with a brace of fourth-place finishes and then tried hard when running second here 11 days ago just a neck back from the winner. A wide gate is no help here but with the right run, he can go one better. TRUE PLAYER (10) failed as favourite on debut and was found to be shin sore after that run before being put aside to mature. He has had a couple of tune-up trials and is poised to set the record straight fresh up here. Follow your money. OLYMPIC PARK (15) won the latest of 2 trials and has the blinkers on for his debut. If not too green in the run, he can have a say in the outcome of this race. A market watch is advised. DANEA ROCK (12) is resuming from a decent spell with one quiet trial under her belt. She will be running on and could figure in the finish at a decent price.

RACE 5 - MAGNUM CLASS (1) has won here over this trip and was a solid enough third on this track last time out over 1200m. He is sliding down in class and has landed another handy draw. Chris Parnham sticks with him and he will be very hard to hold out in this. MAGNACHINE (5) has found it hard to win another race but her last 2 starts have been full of merit. She has 2kg less to carry this time and from a handy draw, she will be right in the finish again. DIALLING (2) is resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good and he will find this easier than any of his 3 starts last prep. A recent trial will have him ready to run a big race. TOP OF THE WALK (4) raced in a good spot last time out at Belmont and lifted strongly late to finish runner-up, a neck back from the winner when racing out of his grade. He can make the most of the pole position and even though he is still a maiden, he won't be far away.

RACE 6 - VENUS KING (9) defied all challengers to cling on to a nose win here 11 days ago when starting as favourite. He is bred to continue to improve as he gets up over more ground and is having his first crack at a true middle distance in this. He is still in his first prep and if this race has not come too soon for him, he can win again. LEAD BY EXAMPLE (7) posted an overdue maiden win in fine style by over 3 lengths in her penultimate start and then ran fourth last time out 8 days ago, both times over 2200m. She won't lack fitness and should be among the hardest to beat again. NOD AND SMILE (8) found the mile too short for him last time out at Northam and his effort for second over 2200m at Belmont before that is the guide to use. The blinkers are off again immediately and he is poised to bounce straight back into the money here. OMERTA GRACE (1) scored when second-up at Northam two runs ago then found one better last time at this track over 1675m. Racing too well to ignore.

RACE 7 - KIRALUI (8) has been in good form this prep and was a close-up fifth as favourite at Belmont 12 days ago when just peaking in her run late. She has won her only start on this track and is capable of taking this out. Follow your money. FORTUNE'S LUCK (5) ended up racing a lot closer to the pace than normal last start at Northam and did not quite round off her effort, finishing sixth, but still less than 2 lengths from the winner. She is likely to be ridden more quietly this time and she is expected to bounce straight back into the money here. JELLY CAN RUN (2) has been runner-up in his last couple of starts in stronger company and it does seem that he has a preference for wet tracks. With conditions to suit, he will be very hard to beat. LINDEN'S GOLD (3) ran on very strongly fresh up at Northam and finished a head back from the winner in third place. He has won twice over this slightly longer trip and is poised to have the last say. Stick with him.
