Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - BLUE SWIMMER (1) has hit a purple patch of form of late with two wins and two seconds from his past five outings and has placed two from two around this circuit. Should be right there when the whips are cracking. STREET GLORY (4) has been right there in the past four starts and has placed one from one over this track and trip. Should be prominent early and will give backers a sight. WHATJEUDOIN' (5) is one from one over this course and distance and is drawn to get a soft run from gate two. Top-three conveyance. PATTI WAGGIN (3) draws the inside marble and looks one for the exotics players. MOTAMAYIZ (2) next best in a race with only a handful of chances.
RACE 2 - WELL HELD (5) resumes here but the form he showed in his first preparation was more than good enough to be competitive in a race like this. Stanley sticks in the saddle and a strong run while fresh would not surprise. MARCH MADNESS (3) has been thereabouts in all four runs since joining the new stable and strikes a winnable contest here. Looms as the main danger. THE HOME TEAM (4) has placed two of three overall including a solid third over this track and trip last time out. In the mix. FRASER'S RIDGE (1) gets 3kg weight relief from the inside draw and can give this a shake.
RACE 3 - ENABLER (5) went down by the narrowest of margins at Rockhampton at the latest effort and looks to be nearing another victory. Is a three-time winner over this sprint trip and should be right there at the business end. TOW THE LINE (9) resumes here but has won when fresh before, draws the inside alley, and gets in well at the weights with the claim. Ticks a few boxes. LEADERSHIP SPILL (1) has placed six of seven over this course and distance and strips fitter second-up from the spell. Right in this. DOUBTING EYE (3) has hit the top four in nine of ten starts since joining the new stable and is a must for the multiples. GALBALAN (4) rounds out the selections in a competitive affair.
RACE 4 - MOON OVER MATILDA (7) has been knocking on the door of a maiden victory with two solid placings this time in work and this is not an overly strong affair. Cormack stays in the stirrups and should be going very close. ARIK LAD (1) just ran into one better here at the latest effort and the step-up in trips suits. Will be right there when the judge calls a halt. HADMYTIME (3) gets 3kg off from the inside alley and may earn some minor money. YA LOVE HER (5) next in line.
RACE 5 - KEFALONIA (5) has a handy record around this circuit with two wins and five placings from 15 outings and gets the services of gun hoop Wiggins in the irons. Likely improver with strong winning prospects. BRAZEN BRECCIA (10) goes well over this track and trip with a win and three placings from six attempts. Will go forward and expected to be right in the finish. KELLERS SHELTER (9) won at a big price by a head two starts back over 1560m at this track. Worth keeping safe. JETSKI (2) next best.
RACE 6 - SENSATIONABULL (1) broke through for a well-deserved victory here at the latest outing and will have derived a stack of confidence from that win. Winning rider Jokic stays on top and should be going very close again. SEISME (4) put in an improved performance here at the last run and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looks a serious danger. ANOTHER DIMENSION (9) has a win and a second from three attempts at this distance range and rates a definite top-three contender on best form. MILKY ROCKET (10) strips fitter second-up from a long break and must be respected with Wiggins on board from the low draw. MICROWAVE JENNY (6) best of the rest from the inside alley.
RACE 7 - Former Victorian KATHY'S BEAU (4) is having his first run for the new stable but the form he showed down south was more than good enough to feature in a race like this. Revved up for this with two solid trials and a strong race while fresh is expected. SENNAPROST (3) is one from one around this track and trip and gets 2kg off with the claim. Rarely runs a bad race and has to be included. BUSH DIAMOND (1) has won two from three around this circuit and will be at peak fitness for this. Top-three candidate. HUMOUR ME (9) returned in winning order here and can go right on with the job now. The well-related PRIVATE CHEETAH (2) (half to 2xG1 winner Think About It) next in line.
RACE 8 - SNAZZY SNITZEL (3) wasn't disgraced at Coffs Harbour on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Has since returned with strong maiden victory at Rockhampton last time out and is sure to take some stopping again. OUT OF SIGHT (6) broke the maiden status in dominant fashion when resuming and will have taken confidence from that win. Looks a serious player. WHITTLESFORD (5) has hit the top-four in all three runs since joining the new stable and can fill the frame with any luck in running. Last-start winner SPEC OF SILVER (8) best of the rest.
