Racing & Sports expert selections.
RACE 1 - IFFUBLUSH (8) showed good improvement last start when beaten 0.4L at this course and steps out to a more suitable trip now. She gets Pike in the saddle third-up and she's placed 3/3 at this trip. She ticks plenty of boxes and finds the right race to shed the Maiden tag. PIRATE'S ALLEY (4) gets back out to a mile now following a 4.6L defeat over 1200m last start. His only run over the mile was at Belmont on a Heavy track, so there are some excuses there. Racing well since coming to Kalgoorlie though and he'll be right in the finish. CHOIXRISKA (3) is better than he showed last start and should appreciate getting back out to this trip. Faithfull remaining in the saddle is a positive sign and he's expected to maker his presence felt. DE ZANE GREY (1) just missed last start over 1400m and looks ready for this trip now. Live chance. MANGANUI (2) just missed over this track and trip two back and has claims.
RACE 2 - SCIENCE DEGREE (1) comes across from Victoria where he was well beaten on the Synthetic most recently. His first two efforts rate highly however and he looks to have good early speed to negotiate the wide alley. Rates well in this field and can be winning this if he bounces back. KRATESIS (8) was just fair first-up at Bunbury but ticks plenty of boxes today. She gets Pike in the saddle in what appears an easier event and the slight drop in trip should help her too. Fitter now and shapes as an improver. LYN'S DAKOTA (11) was only 1.7L off the winner in a blanket finish last start and gets the Blinkers on for the first time now. She should be prominent from the alley and is sure to take plenty of catching under Brad Parnham. ULTIMATE PARADISE (6) is never far away and brings some good Metro and Provincial form into this race. GREY REVOLUTION (7) went under narrowly last time out and has claims.
RACE 3 - SECRET STYLE (3) has won two on-end to begin this campaign and she looks well placed to make it a hat-trick. She's a mare on the way up and she has the speed to get across from the wide alley. Racing in rich form and can win again. DUO MUSO (2) will put up a strong effort after chasing home Secret Style last start. She does meet Secret Style worse at the weights, though Pike takes the ride this time, replacing the apprentice hoop. Form reads well and it wouldn't surprise to see her turn the tables. DREAM BROOK (6) scored a strong maiden win first-up this campaign, leading all the way to win by 1.2L. Drawn better this time and while this is tougher, she rates highly off the fresh win. Can go back-to-back. WANNA CRACKER (1) is better than he's shown his past couple and the senior jockey replacing the apprentice may help. Include. DUBLIN RED (8) can improve now with a run under her belt.
RACE 4 - KHALIDA (4) has been impressive this time in work, winning her last two impressively. This looks to set up similarly to last start and she draws a better barrier this time around. Just needs to hold her form to be winning again. ZING TO WIN (5) should put up a good fight if he can run up to his recent performances. He's looking for four wins in-a-row and should get the camp on Khalida in the run. Should be filling the quinella. EEVALINA (2) was behind Zing To Win last start over 1100m here and gets CJP in the saddle on this occasion. Was 10-1 there, but she's capable of further improvement now. Sure to be in the finish. TOTAL LOCKDOWN (7) disappointed last time out but is better than that. Can bounce back. MY BOY CHRIS (9) is better than he showed last start and is not to be discounted.
RACE 5 - LUCKY LILY (9) just found them too sharp over the 1100m journey last start and should appreciate the rise in distance. Faithfull hops back in the saddle and she is a strike jockey for the Fernie barn. Her prior form reads well and if she can get back to her best, she'll take beating. DONT WAIT FOR LUCK (2) has found a couple better in his last two outings, getting back in the run but hitting the line nicely. Now out to this trip for the first time which looks to suit. Racing well of late an now looks poised to strike. MORIAH (7) has been running on strongly from the rear in recent efforts and now gets CJP in the saddle. Will need some luck again as she is likely to get back, but she'll go close if the breaks come. IMMODEST (4) rattled home to win last time in fine style and can repeat the dose third-up. ABSOLUTE PLUM (1) is better than he showed last start and can bounce back.
RACE 6 - LAQUETTA'S GIFT (7) settled last but ran on strongly over 1200m here first-up, beaten just 1.5L. Drawn wide again so expect her to get back, but she tends to fire second-up and the extra trip will suit. Can go a couple better this time around. DEBONNAIRE (4) has been a winning machine of late, winning narrowly over 1200m last time out following a win at this track and trip. The wide draw may be a niggle, but he keeps finding ways to win and is likely to go close once again. COLOSSAL (9) brings different form into the race after racing in Saturday grade over 1400m two starts ago. Pike hops back in the saddle and out in trip helps. Can get back to winning ways. HIGH PRESSURE (8) can find the front from the alley and will take catching. KICK A GOAL SON (3) hasn't been far away of late and has to be included.
RACE 7 - The feature event and ADMIRATION EXPRESS (4) looks ready to end her winning drought. She was gunned down last start in a high rating effort and she looks back to her best after some hiccups. Should be prominent in the run again for CJP and will take plenty of catching from the front. STARRY HEIGHTS (10) finished behind Admiration Express last start but is trending nicely this time in. Now gets Pike in the saddle and a good track may hold the key. Nicely weighted and can get the job done. ANOTHER CHINO (3) should be ready to go now third-up into the campaign and can feature. RED CADILLAC (9) is racing well and is worth thought.
RACE 8 - SECRET ATTRACTION (7) bumped into an in-form galloper last start over 1300m, beaten 1.9L and that form may have been franked by now. Pike hops on board now as she rises back up to the mile where she's been successful previously. Everything points to a forward showing. MORE THAN ENUFF (6) just missed out on going back-to-back last start, beaten 0.6L over 1400m here. That efforts rates well though and the rise in trip looks to suit. Drawn well and can make his presence felt. NO WHISPERING (2) found a couple better last start and is another out to this trip for the first time. The wide draw is a niggle, but Fiore hopping back on board is a positive sign. Can feature if he's at his best. YES OF COURSE (11) is racing well without winning and has to be included down in the weights. ONEMOREFORLEO (4) is better than he showed last start and is not to be discounted.
