Spirit Of Camelot to continue on his winning ways at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Disappointing fresh when left flat-footed over a sprinting trip, Spirit Of Camelot bounced back sharply second-up when rising quickly to1400m.
Well supported late, the Michael Hickmott-trained filly never looked like losing once balancing up in the lane. Taking over passing the 200m, the three-year-old filly put pay to her rivals in a matter of strides before cruising to line to score softly by 2.6L.
She stays at the 1400m which looks a real pet trip and retains the services of hot-hand hoop Todd Pannell who is striking at 20% in his last 50 rides.
Drawn much more favourably than her main danger Alectrona, her Autumn form suggests she's got a fair bit up her sleeve and can run to a new peak on the Racing and Sports scale. If she takes that improvement, she's got them covered.
As for a value play, we look to the following race where I think Quintillion is ready to run a big race.
Trained out of the G & N Searle & B Callanan stable, this five-year-old Deep Field gelding is yet to find the frame this campaign but has gone better than his form reads.
Taken a long way back from wide gates in both runs to open the campaign, Quintillion has been finishing full of running. Getting in low at the weights, Kayla Crowther sticks and from a much kinder draw should be able to settle her mount a lot closer third-up over a longer trip. If the gaps appear in the lane, he can certainly cause them a scare late in the piece.
