Midweek racing from Sandown Hillside and Canterbury and we've got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Sandown Hillside Race 4 - Federer
Not hard to find but we had him as a horse to follow on debut and he's backed up that win with an even better performance, relishing a strong tempo over the 1600m to absolutely bolt in by six lengths. He's bred to be a staying champion, by Dundeel out of Caulfield Cup winner Jameka, and those bloodlines are absolutely shining through. He'll get 2400m in time no worries at all, and while he hasn't beaten much so far, he looks very promising. No doubt he's Saturday open grade over 2000m and beyond.
Canterbury Race 3 - Countyourblessings
Bit of a quiet day at Canterbury to be honest with nothing really catching the eye but I liked the win of Countyourblessings who notched up her third victory from nine starts, showing a neat turn of foot to take a gap and sprint away quickly for a soft win. She was only first up here and we've got her running to something like her best rating which is promising. With some of the better horses coming back, I think she can hunt around the midweek and provincial circuits for some decent money races.
