Subliminal will be chasing a third straight victory when she lines up at Caulfield.

Weight will stop a train, but it doesn't seem to have the same effect on the Leon & andTroy Corstens-trained Subliminal. 

The four-year-old daughter of Merchant Navy is looking to complete a hat-trick of victories when she lines up in the Vale Rod McQueen (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday. 

Subliminal was handicapped with 61.5kg on Saturday, but after the claim for in-form apprentice Jaylah Kennedy, the mare will carry 58.5kg in the benchmark 70 contest for mares. 

Heading to the two-day Wagga Carnival on May 3, Subliminal lumped 61.5kg to score over 1400m before dropping to 57.5kg when successful against the boys at benchmark 70 level at Bendigo on May 22. 

"She has been super consistent," Troy Corstens said. 

"She was great up at Wagga and then she backed that up with a lovely run at Bendigo. 

"I had planned to run her next week at Flemington, but we've decided to go to Caulfield instead." 

Corstens said he was always expecting a bit of weight for the mare being a benchmark 70 race with Subliminal a 73-rated mare. 

And the engagement of Kennedy is an inspired choice after the apprentice rode a double at Sandown last Saturday and followed it up with a double at Ballarat on Tuesday. 

"We've got Jaylah Kennedy on board," Corstens said. 

"She comes in quite nicely at the weights and she's done really well since the Bendigo win. 

"She's a 73 rater in a benchmark 70 race, so you're always going to get a bit of weight, but Jahlah's riding super well at the moment, so the claim brings her in well. 

"She's an easy ride and should be super competitive." 

South Australian raider Episodic, chasing a fourth straight win for Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea, is the $3 top elect while Subliminal sits as an $8.50 chance in latest markets.
