Bendigo Race 2 - Craig

Very smart Australian debut from this former import who debuted at Newmarket six months ago, starting 100-1 but running well for third. He posted a Timeform figure of 81 there and has improved upon that here with a big win over 1400m, coming from near last to win by a widening 4.3 lengths. The son of Territories earned a '+' at the end of his rating this time around due to the sectionals he ran, suggesting there are plenty more wins in store. He'll have no issue stepping up in trip and looks capable of measuring up to Saturday class soon.

Warwick Farm Race 1 - Private Life

Soft win by this Written Tycoon colt at just his second start, repaying the faith in those who stayed with him off a modest debut when well fancied. He was a $650,000 purchase for Coolmore but just got too far back around Canterbury on debut as favourite, running on okay for fourth. As is so often the case with Waller horses, an inside barrier here instantly saw him closer in the run and once he took the gap, the win was soft. While he's by a sprinting sire, his dam was an Oaks and Sydney Cup placegetter, so there could be a bit of stamina to come over more ground.
