Manawanui may head to Warwick Farm

Trainer Ron Leemon is hoping to run Manawanui in an exhibition gallop between races at Warwick Farm on Saturday.

Leemon scrapped plans of running Manawanui in a trial at Rosehill on Friday because the trainer did not believe he was ready.

The minor hiccup has cast a minor doubt on whether Manawanui will be ready for the Cox Plate, which was to be his main target of the Spring.

Leemon was always made it clear the Cox Plate was going to be the key race for the Spring, but now he wants to wait to see how Manawanui starts his Spring campaign before making a final decision on his Spring plans.

A final decision on whether the dual Group One winner will gallop on Saturday will be made after track work tomorrow morning.
