Little Sis Fetches $2.6M

The half sister to champion mare Black Caviar and the undefeated All Too Hard has been knocked down for $2.6million on Day 2 of the 2012 Inglis Premier Sale. Cataloged as Lot 200, the daughter of Redoutes Choice has been purchased by leading Bloodstock Group BC3 Thoroughbreds and will be trained by leading Victorian trainer Danny O'Brien. "“At $2.5million I got a little bit wobbly," BC3's Bill Vlahos said. "$2.6million was the highest we were going so I started to get nervous and look around to see if any other hands were going up. "We pretty much stuck to our price and we think she is worth exactly what we paid for her. Too much more and it might not be us owning her but it is exactly what I think she is worth and hopefully more at the end of her racing career.” The filly will now go to BC3's private training centre at Connewarre on the Bellarine Peninsula for their specific BC3 Program before heading to Danny O'Brien's training property. "This is a once in in a lifetime opportunity, and we believe it's a chance to get involved with one of best broodmares this country has ever seen," O'Brien said.
