Cox Plate placegetter Rekindled Interest will continue his progression towards the spring with a gallop between races at Moonee Valley this Saturday.
Speaking with Shane Anderson this morning, trainer Jim Conlan confirmed the now five-year old was in good order ahead of his return. "He's making great progress at the moment. He'll gallop at The Valley on Saturday and then all going well he'll be ready to kick off in the Laurence Stakes a fortnight after that", Conlan said on Racing Ahead.
"He's a lot more matured and developed this time around and really thrived in the month he had off following the autumn. He's put on another fifteen to twenty kilos in his time away from the track."
Conlan admitted Rekindled Interest would tread a similar path to last spring. "I'll work out what races we target along the way following the Laurence, but I would like to have him peaking for both the Dato Tan Chin Nam and the Cox Plate this time around." Conlan said.
