The duo flew in yesterday following 5th and 6th placing in the Million Dollar Chase last week and trialled at The Meadows today.

WA star, Bezzecchi put his name on the map during the MDC City Qualifier at Wentworth Park where he recorded the second fastest time ever seen on the track – 29.12.

Trained in WA by Paul Stuart, Bezzecchi will bypass the Topgun and opt for the Hume Cup in the opening night of the Dream Chasers Festival.

"We didn't want to waste time planning for the Topgun when he would likely not get a start," caretaker trainer Glenn Rounds said.

Rounds gave Bezzecchi a long box-to-box (600 metre boxes) today at The Meadows where he went 9.05, 21.95 after coming out a bit awkward.

"We are happy with the trial and will likely give him a exhibition trial over 500 at The Meadows in preparation for the Hume Cup heats."

Good Odds Cobber, who is trained by Frank Hurst in NSW is aimed directly at the Topgun.

Rounds gave Good Odds Cobber a post-to-post where he went 12.86, 24.82 (11.96 run home).

"Very happy with his first look at the track," Rounds said.

"Hopefully he gets a guernsey, I would be shocked if he missed out."

We will see Bezzecchi and Good Odds Cobber alongside Glenn Rounds name throughout their stay in Victoria.

The Topgun selection panel will meet this weekend. Fields will be released on Friday 1 November.
